Private lessons are the best way to excel at your instrument. It is difficult, if not impossible, to work on individual skills while in band class or during ensemble practice.
Learn to master your instrument from a professional flutist, not a general woodwind instructor! Tone production and fingering tricks are specific to flutists. This instrument is different from all other wind instruments in the band or orchestra. This is the only instrument whose tone is produced by blowing air across the embouchure hole - not into a mouthpiece or through a reed.
Lessons at my location in Hendersonville or West Nashville are $20 per weekly half-hour lesson. In-home lessons may be available for an extra fee, amount depends on location.
